Tour introduction

Western Mongolia is home to different ethnic groups and spectacular snow-capped mountains and landscapes. More than 20 ethnic groups such as Kazakh, Uriankhai, Oold and Torguud live in this area. It is very unique mixed with different culture and customs. One of them is Kazakh who historically nomads, dwelling year-round in portable, dome-shaped tents or yurts as other Mongolians although they live in a stone house in winter. They have a lot of unique traditions and festivals such as Nauriz holiday, training or hunting eagles. Mainly nomad families migrated seasonally to find pasturage for their livestock, including horses, sheep, goats, cattle, camels and yaks. The diet consisted largely of milk and meat products. Products made with hides, hair, wool, cashmere and horn are used for different usages such as clothing, containers, thongs, rope, ladles and other utensils daily. 
In this tour gives you not only to enjoy Mongolian winter landscape and weather but also to explore and learn lifestyle of Mongolians and gain eagle hunting experience. This tour will leave you ultimate peace and everlasting memories and unforgettable experience.   


Day by day itineraries

Day1.  Arrive in Mongolia

We will pick you up from the airport/train station and transfer you to the hotel. After some rest at the hotel, we will visit Gandan monastery, the first temple was built in 1837 and was center of Buddhist learning in the Mongolia and Mongolian National history museum. The museum is currently recognized as one of the leading museums in Mongolia. The significant responsibility for preserving Mongolian cultural heritage therefore lies with the museum. Then, we will transfer you to the hotel. Stay in hotel*** “Khuvsgul lake” or similar one 


Day2-3. Fly to Ulgii and drive to Sagsai village (B/L/D)

We will fly to Ulgii (About 3 hours flight). After landing, we will drive to Sagsai village. Visit and stay in Kazakh family which is one of the ethnic groups. Next day, you will ride a horse and explore the way of Kazakh family’s life and eagle hunting experience. Overnight in a kazakh family (About 50kms- About 2 hours driving)


Day4. Drive to Khovd town through Tolbo Lake (B/L/D)

Today we will drive to Khovd town. On the way, we will walk around frozen Tolbo lake and enjoy Tsambagarav mountain while driving. As well as it is great opportunity to take some pictures and enjoy the view. We will stay in hotel in Khovd town (About 280kms - About 6 hours driving)


Day5. Head to Tooroin els through Khar-Us lake (B/L/D)

We will drive to frozen Khar-Us lake, the second-largest fresh water lake, watch birds and take some photos. Then, we will head to Tooroin els and walk around to explore it. Overnight in a nomad family (About 150kms –about 3-4 hours for driving)


Day6. Drive to Khoid Tsenkher cave (B/L/D)

We will drive to Khoid Tsenkher cave, famous for its Paleolithic paintings or rock ones- numerous symbols and animals drawn by red and yellow ochre, registered as UNESCO World heritage and explore the cave. Then we will head to Khovd town and stay in hotel (About 150kms –about 3-4 hours for driving)


Day7. Fly back to Ulaanbaatar (B/L/D) 

We will fly to Ulaanbaatar (About 3hour flight). After landing, we will drive to Khustai NP. The park lies in the foothills of southern Khentii mountain range and it is the place where you can see wild horse called Takhi known as Przewalski horse to the world. The wild horses survive in nature by themselves because they have been reintroduced successfully to their homeland after 40 years of extinction. Stay in ger camp (100kms -About 2 hours driving)   


Day8. Terelj National Park and Chingis Khaan Equestrian statue (B/L)

We will drive to Terelj NP. On the way to National park, we will visit Chingis Khaan Equestrian statue that is highest one in the world. In the NP we will hike to small temple Aryabal and It is possible to make dog sledding. It is around 35USD per person around 20-30minutes. Drive back to Ulaanbatar and stay in a hotel*** (About 260kms- about 6 hours driving)


Day9. Departure (B)

We will drop you at the airport.
